Our students participated in INEPO (International Project Olympiad). The school was represented by groups from Mehmet Akif College Prishtina:
•Teuta Qerimi & Trendelina Rrustemi-“Cleaning of river with biological methods”
•Diana Bislimi & Merita Abdyli-“Absorption of heavy metals on ash thrown by thermo central Kosova A”
Both teams were awarded with medals. “Absorption of heavy metals on ash thrown by thermo central Kosova A” won the silver medal, whereas “Cleaning of river with biological methods” got bronze medal. Together with the medals, the competition was resulted with a lot of experience too. The students learnt a lot of new things. Our country was also represented by 4 students of Mehmet Akif College Prizren:
•Fiqrije Hoxha & Erblina Hoxha- “Absorption of heavy metals with human hair”
•Dafina Karahoda & Dilara Meco-“Wastes on Roof and Wall”
Who also were awarded with silver and bronze medal respectively.

Our trip to Albania was very impressive, on our way to Tirana we stopped at the Yahya Kemal College campus in Struga, which was a beautiful and modern campus since it was built in 2009, we also had dinner in Struga after that we continued our journey to Tirana.
When we arrived at the Turgut Ozal Campus in Tirana we were speechless by the beauty of that campus it had everything that is required to be able to hold highly educative lessons in that environment, not to forget our visit to Epoka University where we received a warm welcome from the staff, also we met with some Mehmet Akif College graduates in Prishtina who are currently studying there.
We visited Skanderbeg square, Citypark shopping center, Taiwan Center, but the most fascinating place we visited was Mount Dajti, we took a 15 min cable car ride to the Mountain, upon arrival we felt the fresh and clean air immediately, from Mt. Dajti you can see most of the Capital City.
We stayed there for more than 1 hour than we returned again with cable cars, what we saw there cannot be written easily in a text it needs to be seen to understand the beauty of Mt. Dajti.
After visiting different attractions in Tirana, we spent another night in the beautiful and clean dormitories of Turgut Ozal College than we continued our journey to a very famous touristic city Durrës, there we spend more than 3 hours, on the way back to Pristina we stopped at Ohrid city in Macedonia and spent some time there seeing the old historic bazaar and seaside as well. We arrived Pristina late in the night.

Congratulations !

I-SWEEEP 2010 brought together over 1,000 brightest science like-minded students and their supervisors in Houston. Young scientists from 70 countries and 43 U.S. states displayed their 470 science projects about pressing issues of energy, engineering, and environment.
Our students Ismail Uka, Besnik Uka and Labinot Krasniqi participated in this competition and awarded by Silver Medal and Special Award from the University of Houston.
Our students Leutrim Syla,Qendrim limani and Visar Dreshaj also participated in I-Sweep 2010 and awarded by Bronze medal..

We Congratulate our students and their Mentor teachers on their valuable work in the competitions.

Each country has something amaze. Albania sure does . That’s where me , my friends and teachers have been to . It’s not necessary to travel thousands of miles just to see something you have never seen .Decision was taken .The place that we would go to visit was Albania .
We were very excited .We started our trip from Banulla . And the first place which we visited was Yahya Kemal College in Struga . We rested there a few . Then we continued our trip to Shkodra . Shkodra was our hosting place . After resting in Shkodra , we visited Tirana , more exactly Dajti Mountain . The sky was not overcast and the sun was shining .Everything was in green.It was an amazing view . In city of Tirana we went to Epoka High School And University ,and also to Tajvan Square. We liked Tirana very much ! While coming back we visited Kavaja and Struga again.We liked the trip very much and enjoyed every minute of it .
We also should mention that we beat Shkodra’s basketball school team , by letting them only score 5 points .
